A 12th century family house and farming estate, Mapledurham is tucked beside the River Thames away from the distraction of the town and city. The estate is a haven of tradition, coupled with sustainable commerce to maintain its viability and ensure its longevity.

Please note that there is no access to the watermill. This is by appointment only.

Weddings & Corporate Events

Mapledurham has partnered with B Corp Raw Tipis to create a premium, sustainable & inclusive outdoor venue: Tipis at Mapledurham.

Guests can exchange vows at one of the outdoor licensed ceremony areas , then dine and dance the night away within the luxury tipi venue.

Ideal for parties of 75-200 guests, Tipis at Mapledurham is designed to suit all weather condition’s.

Events

Whether you are planning a Dog Show, Car Meet, Carvan Rally or Charity Run, our Country Park offers ample space to accommodate your event. With nearly 12 acres adjacent to the River Thames, this location provides a fantastic setting for any gathering. We can also provide the lawns at the front of the house, the dining room for small intimate gatherings as well as the Watermill and Old Manor.

Tours

We offer pre-booked tours of the house, featuring many historical paintings and hidden priest holes. The grounds boast two beautiful magnolia trees, reputed to be the oldest pair in England. The tour also includes the watermill, which is featured in the film “The Eagle Has Landed” and appears on the cover of Black Sabbath’s debut album.

We have exclusively partnered with Raw Tipis since 2025 to deliver Tipis at Mapledurham events at the estate. As a Certified B Corp company Raw Tipis is a recognised leader in delivering sustainable events — we are proud to be part of this journey.
