We welcome private guided group visits to Mapledurham midweek and on Saturdays. and midweek. Sunday group visits are not guided and the public are also admitted. There are guides in some of the rooms to talk to.
Midweek and Saturday group visits
Group visits can be arranged on any day and at most times. Visitors may generally choose either a morning or afternoon visit. Visitors often choose to arrive by boat from nearby Caversham - we are happy to arrange this for you. Upon arrival you will be met by your guide who will take you round the house, watermill and turbine. You will also get the chance to browse the well-stocked mill gift shop – flour milled here is always available as well as some lovely gift ideas. We now offer light lunches and teas and these are served in the Old Manor tea room or the Coach House. Tea options are either a cream tea (two home made scones, clotted cream, jam and tea) or afternoon tea (handmade cake and tea). Refreshments are laid for you and served waitress style. Please do let us know of any dietary requirements and we will try to help. Please note the tea choice should be the same for the whole group. Our policy at Mapledurham is not to rush anyone (particularly our more elderly guests) and to provide a quality outing for our valued guests – so that everyone goes home happy and pleased with their visit.
Weekend unguided groups
House, watermill and turbine £8.00 (unguided, minimum of 20 people)
Helpful tips – if you are arriving by coach, please do also consider our golf course for lunch. Only two miles away, the club house offers a varied menu and produces delicious home cooked meals at a very reasonable price. If you are arriving by boat, then there are various places in Caversham for lunch – one (a carvery) is within five minutes of the boat departure area
